Brief description:

La Cartoixa was founded in the 12th century by Alfons el Cast, being the first Carthusian monastery in the Iberian peninsula. It is located in the municipality of La Morera de Montsant (Tarragona). During the confiscation of Mendizábal, in 1835, the peasants turned it into ruins. In the present some parts of the church and the cells are still standing.

To carry out the restoration of the cloister, this Laboratory was asked to study the existing stones and mortars, and propose the conservative treatments that would be carried out by the company Urcotex.
