Final Degree Projects

The faculty who collaborates with the Materials Laboratory is in charge of coordinating the Degree Final Projects (TFG) specifically related to the activities which are carried out in the Laboratory. For instance:

 

Heritage Line

-        Over 10 projects in graphical representation, diganosis and characterization of religious and civil architecture materials in the Valls d'Àneu (Lleida).

-        Projects of diagnosis, characterization of materials and intervention proposals in buildings and/or Heritage ensembles in Skykda (Algeria) and Tetouan (Morrocco). 

 

Energetic Efficiency Line

-        Over 25 projects of energetic evaluation in scholar, administrative, hopistal, cultural and sportive buildings. 

 

Sustainability and Environmental Line

-        Over 10 projects in training and internships in companies of design and installing of green walls and roofs in existing buildings. 

-        Studies in systems and building materials of low environmental impact: straw bale walls; accident rate in rammed-earth walls; vernacular construction; Bio-built project; insulation made of green waste and organic conglomerates; thermical and mechanic properties of new earth construction systems ; construction systems with adobe walls, guadua cane and common cane. 

 

Conglomerate and composite Line:

-        Characterization and design of mortars for restoration, with traditional conglomerates (traditional gypsum and lime). 

-        Study of clay fluidification

-        Study of vegetable fiber and clay cladding as a conglomerate. 

-        Use of PCM (heat exchangers) in gypsum mortars. 

-        Characterization of adobe wall construction by means of non-destructive techniqus (NDT) and correlation with destructive tests (DT).
