Thermogravimetric Analysis of a Sample
Thermogravimetric Analysis of a sample (TG, dTG)
Thermogravimetric analysis is based on subjecting the sample to a growing temperature variation, starting with the ambient temperature and measuring, throughout the process, the mass of the sample. The result is represented in a temperature-mass graph. The temperatures at which the highest mass losses occur (from the derivative of the function) are assessed, and if the processes are partially exothermic or endothermic.
It is used to characterize materials and determine components quantitatively.
