Infrared (IR)

Characterization of the composition of the organic compounds of a sample by means of Infrared (IR).

Infrared spectrometry is used to determine molecular bonds of a material, both organic and inorganic. It is a qualitative analytical technique.

A ray of infrared light crosses the sample to study. When the excitation frequency of a link (or group of links) coincides with any of the frequencies included in the waves that form the lightning bolus, absorption occurs. To the spectrum obtained, the amount of energy absorbed at each wavelength is recorded.
