Brief description:

The Parc Güell is a "large garden" designed by architect Antoni Gaudí between 1900 and 1914. It was inaugurated as a public park in 1926. Years later, in 1984, UNESCO declared it as a World Heritage Site.

The central point of the park is an immense square, bordered by an undulating bench 150 m long. Under this square is the hypostyle room, with 86 columns. In the ceiling, between columns, there is a white trencadís garrison. There are also four circular decorations in the form of a sun.

During the waterproofing works of the square, the decorations had to be disassembled, and subsequently reassembled. This work was carried out by Gamarra & Garcia, S.L. The study of the original mortars in order to reproduce them as faithfully and conveniently as possible was commissioned in this Laboratory.
